The secluded location of the house offers peace away from the town but with the luxury of only being less than 10 minutes drive away from both Sherborne or Yeovil.
Dog Friendly
We know how important being able to bring the whole family is so we always encourage our guests to being along their four legged best friend. We provide blankets, treats and bowls as well as our garden being completely fenced all round.

A Woodland Retreat
A break away from city life surrounded by forests and fields, with walks straight from the front door and wonderful country pubs in Nether Compton and near by villages. We even have a lake!
We loved our stay at The Round Lodge. It’s in such a pretty and peaceful location - it really does have a fairytale feel about it. The outside seating is right next to a river which was particularly lovely to listen to with a morning coffee. The house is very well equipped and beautifully clean. We had everything we needed, there were five of us staying and we had plenty of space. We enjoyed lots of beautiful walks from the house and Sherborne is only a 10 minute drive away and was full of great restaurants. We were pleasantly surprised at how well stocked Trencherman’s was (only a few mins walk away) and it had a good supply of kitchen cupboard essentials and a big array of wine. We had a wonderful stay and would recommend it for a perfect spot for some rest and relaxation.

Spent a few days with friends recently and unlike some places the photos do truly reflect this gorgeous cottage.
The cottage is very comfy and the hosts had taken care of everything. Attention to detail.
Lovely beds, fantastic views from the back of the house, very cosy in the evening.
-wonderful eating area outside on terraced type area looking across to the forest with the gentle relaxing sound of a nearby stream.
-lovely walks around to suit everyone including a wonderful nearby church.
-secluded for privacy but not isolated
-no early cockerell alarm
-Sherborne close with independent shops and yummy cafes and tearooms.
-suitable for friends, romantic getaway or families with children.

The Story of Round Lodge
Our woodland retreat
We fell in love with the Round Lodge from the very first viewing. The house, nestled in its enchanting surroundings of woodland, lakes and fields is striking. As you walk to the end of the garden you can hear the stream and at the top of the garden the natural spring. The lane outside is so inviting for strolls and the proximity to such a picturesque village (not to mention beautiful Sherborne) is an added bonus. We are so lucky to have found it. The thatched roof is like a postcard and the round rooms are unique. We have spent some time making the inside look as fresh and as charming as the surroundings and we hope you will enjoy it as much as we do. Just to know that others can come and enjoy this real haven of peace and nature is delightful for us!
